State Commitment

  1. Commitment to Democracy and the Constitution
We reaffirm our commitment to the State and U.S. Constitutions, ensuring democracy remains strong, transparent, and accessible. We will fight voter suppression, expand access to the ballot, and protect the right of every citizen to have their voice heard.
  2. State Leadership in Economic Growth and Innovation
Our state must be a leader in building a fair economy that supports working people, small businesses, and sustainable industries. We will invest in local innovation, infrastructure, and job creation that puts our residents first.
  3. Fair Taxation and Economic Justice
Our state’s tax system must serve working families and small businesses—not just the wealthy and powerful. We will close corporate tax loopholes, prevent billionaires from avoiding their fair share, and reform regressive taxes that disproportionately burden working people.
  4. Strengthening Farmers and Rural Communities
Family farms and rural economies are vital to our state. We will prioritize small and mid-sized farmers over corporate agribusiness, enforce fair pricing protections, and ensure access to affordable land and resources. We support a state-level right-to-repair law for farm equipment and will fight against monopolistic control of agriculture.
  5. Strengthening Labor Rights and Worker Protections
Workers must have the right to organize, bargain collectively, and strike without fear of retaliation. We will fight to repeal anti-union laws like so-called “right-to-work” provisions, strengthen workplace protections, and crack down on wage theft and worker misclassification.
  6. Fair Trade and Local Industry Protection
We support trade policies that protect our farmers, workers, and manufacturers from unfair foreign and corporate exploitation. We will strengthen “Buy Local” initiatives, ensure state contracts prioritize local businesses, and protect industries vital to our communities.
  7. Affordable Housing for All
Our state faces a severe housing shortage and skyrocketing costs. We will end speculative real estate investment that drives up prices, expand affordable housing programs, and support rent stabilization policies that keep families in their homes.
  8. Expanding Healthcare Access in Every Community
Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege. In the absence of a Federal option, we support statewide universal healthcare solutions that lower costs, expand rural healthcare access, and prevent hospital closures. We will ensure that every community—urban and rural—has access to essential medical services.
  9. Investing in Public Infrastructure and Rural Broadband
We will rebuild and modernize our state’s roads, bridges, and public utilities. High-speed broadband must be available to every rural home and business, recognizing that internet access is critical for economic growth, education, and healthcare.
  10. Education and Workforce Development
Every child deserves a fully funded public education, no matter their zip code. We will invest in rural schools, technical training, and state-supported tuition-free community college and apprenticeships, ensuring our workforce is prepared for the jobs of tomorrow.
  11. Energy Independence and Climate Resilience
Our state must lead in clean energy investment, creating good-paying jobs in wind, solar, and sustainable agriculture. We will protect family farms from climate disruptions, improve soil health programs, and support local energy independence initiatives.
  12. Breaking Up Corporate Monopolies and Enforcing State Anti-Trust Laws
We will enforce anti-monopoly laws to protect farmers, small businesses, and consumers from predatory corporate control. No single corporation should dominate our economy or dictate prices that harm workers and families.
